Salima Central Shadow MP Launches James Manyetera League 2025.

Salima Central Constituency independent shadow member of parliament James Manyetera has inaugurated the highly anticipated MK15 million football and netball league, aimed at fostering unity among youths.

The event was officially launched at Msalura Community Day Secondary School field on Saturday, with a grand ceremony that saw the participation of football enthusiasts drawn from across the constituency. The league, which is expected to run from May through September, features a total of 30 teams grouped into four groups.

In his opening address, Manyetera emphasized that the primary goal of the event is to unite the youth of Salima Central and promote peace and harmony in the process. He therefore urged participants to put aside their political affiliations and focus on the spirit of sportsmanship. He shared his determination to make a difference in the community, saying young people have the potential to do anything, and he is going to continue to support them.

According to Manyetera, the league is very critical as it will keep the youth busy, refrain them from engaging in illicit activities, and empower the youth through sports.

“For me, my desire is for everyone, especially women and youths, to do something sensible. I will continue doing my part in contributing to young people’s welfare ,” said Manyetera.

He acknowledged the hardships faced by the constituents and assured them of his availability to help “I wish all the participating teams well and advise everyone to avoid violence during the games,” he concluded.

Manyetera believes that leadership is not about occupying a position but about making a meaningful impact in people’s lives.

Each participating team was presented with a football to ensure a successful tournament. The ‘James Manyetera 2025 League’ promises to be an exciting event, uniting youth of Salima Central Constituency through the beautiful game of football and netball.
