Minister of Transport and Public Works Jacob Hara has urged the public to place their trust in President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s leadership and vote for him again in the upcoming elections, citing visible progress in development and governance reforms.
Hara made the remarks on Thursday during a political rally held in Lilongwe, hosted by Precious Kabambe, the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) shadow member of parliament for Lilongwe City Bwaila Constituency.
Addressing the area residents, Hara described Chakwera’s leadership as transformative, stating that it has put sanity in government systems and prioritized inclusive development across the country. He pointed out ongoing road infrastructure projects, investment in public education, and stable food security as some of the milestones achieved under MCP leadership.

“Today, Malawians can clearly see the difference: a government that is working tirelessly to build roads, schools, and health centers and ensuring affordable fertilizer for our farmers,” he said.
The minister also revealed that the government is planning to expand the Social Cash Transfer Programme, which he said has significantly uplifted lives in rural areas.
Hara warned Malawians not to go back to the days of broken systems and leadership driven by self-interest.
In his remarks, Shadow member of parliament for Lilongwe City Bwaila Constituency, Precious Kabambe, said he is committed to working closely with the party and the people of the area.
Kabambe explained that his aspiration to represent the constituency is driven by a desire to bring meaningful change and development to the community.
Malawians are set to head to the polls on September 16, with the official campaign period scheduled to begin on Monday, July 14.
